A Signal shows when something worth knowing about is happening in your comp set.

What are Signals?

The Signals Hub is the dedicated page for reviewing every currently-firing signal across your comp set.

Using the Signals Hub

Rate Radar generates multiple types of signal. Some look at your comp set as a whole (hotel-level), and others look at each room category individually (room-type-level).

Signal types reference

Every Signal has one of three priority labels: High, Medium, or Low. The label is meant to tell you how urgently to respond.

The Signals Hub is a live feed. Signals appear when their trigger condition is true and disappear when it isn't, so the page reflects what's actually going on right now in your comp set. This article explains exactly how that works.

Reading, dismissing, and re-firing

If your property doesn't sell a particular room category, the room-type Signals for it are noise rather than insight. You can silence Signals for any category from the Room mapping page.

Rate Radar is a rate-shopping tool for hotels. It monitors your competitors' published rates so you can see what the market is charging without checking each property manually.

Creating a Rate Radar account takes a couple of minutes and doesn't require payment details.

Setting up your account

Choosing your competitors

The Overview is the page you'll see most often. It's a one-screen snapshot of where your comp set sits today and what's coming up across the next six days.

Understanding the Overview dashboard

The Calendar view shows a full month of rate data in a grid, with one cell per date across all six properties in your comp set. It's the right view for spotting weekly patterns, period demand, and dates where availability is tightening.

The Detail view shows rate trends over time. It's the right place when you want to see how a competitor has moved over the past few weeks, or compare price curves across your comp set side by side.

Clicking the blue (i) icon next to any date opens the Daily Overview popup. It's a focused, single-date view that shows the rate evolution for that stay date over the last 30 days.

The Parity monitor tracks one specific problem: when a partner offer undercuts the rate you've set on directly.

Mapping competitor rooms

Three filters sit at the top of every Rate Radar view (Overview, Calendar, Detail). They control which subset of competitor rates you're comparing.

Using filters

Rate Radar refreshes competitor rates on a fixed cadence. Understanding how often the data updates — and how far ahead it reaches — is essential to using the product confidently.

Account and Billing

Beacon uses Paddle to handle billing securely. The Paddle billing portal is where you do everything related to invoices, payment methods, and your subscription itself.

Managing your subscription

If you operate more than one hotel, you can run Beacon across all of them. Each property is its own subscription with its own comp set of you plus five competitors.

Personal details and passwords all live in Account settings, accessed from the user menu.
